Chaos ensued at several Delhi Metro stations in the Yellow line and Red Line as the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Tuesday announced it’s entry gates will be closed. Minutes later, however, few of the metro stations were opened.
In a tweet, the DMRC said the entry gates of five metro stations in the Yellow Line – New Delhi, Chandni Chowk, Kashmere Gate, Saket and Qutub Minar – have been closed to maintain social distancing as part of crowd control measures.
Minutes after the announcement, the entry gates for New Delhi, Chandni Chowk, Saket and Qutub Minar have been opened. However, the entry gate of Kashmere Gate metro station, which also connects to the Red Line, still remain closed.
