Cong: Centre not passing on benefits to fuel consumers

The Congress on Friday said the BJP-led NDA government was not passing on the benefits of a fall in global crude oil prices to the consumers in the country.

State Congress president N Uttam Kumar Reddy said the party leaders and cadre will protest against the rising prices of petrol and diesel on July 4 and against inflated electricity bills on July 6. All the leaders and cadre should follow the Covid-19 guidelines of wearing masks and maintaining physical distance during protests, he added.

Uttam said the previous Congress-led UPA government used to pass on the benefit to the consumers. During that period, fuel prices were increased only when the global crude oil became costlier.
