Demand for petrol increases in Pune

Over 100 petrol pumps in the PMC and PCMC limits have witnessed steady sale of around 6-8 lakh litres of petrol a day from May 18, said Ali Daruwala, the spokesperson of All India Petrol Dealers Association, Pune branch.

“The ease in the lockdown has led to a surge in the fuel sale in the Pimpri Chnichwad municipal limits, considering several business units have opened up. The sale had dropped to around 15 per cent when the lockdown was enforced and the fuel sale was allowed only to essential service providers. Fuel has been available to all citizens from 7am to 7pm from May 18. It is still restricted to just essential service providers from 7pm to 7am,” he said.
