Fuel prices have once again surged in Patna with speed petrol price crossing Rs 100 per litre-mark in the last 24 hours. The oil marketing companies have blamed global market trend and taxes imposed by the government for the daily rise in fuel prices.
Indian Oil Corporation’s premium grade petrol, the superior version of auto fuel which improves the vehicle’s performance, is being sold at Rs 100.19 per litre. Other two oil companies – Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum – are selling their premium grade petrol at Rs 99.5 and Rs 99.15 per litre, respectively.
Petrol prices touched Rs 95.76 per litre in Patna on Wednesday. Diesel, on the other hand, was being sold at Rs 89.74 per litre. The fuel prices started to rise from June last year after Unlock 1.0. Since then, petrol prices went up by Rs 19 per litre and diesel Rs 20 per litre.
