Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), the distributors of Indane LPG domestic cylinders have appealed to their consumers to opt for digital payment mode to avoid paying extra cash demanded by the delivery persons beyond the retail selling price (RSP) fixed by the company.
IOCL officials have made it clear that the RSP mentioned on the cash memo is inclusive of the delivery charges and that they have received complaints from end users that they are forced to pay anywhere between Rs 20 to Rs 100 extra beyond the RSP by the delivery boys, based on the distance from the agency to the point of delivery.
On booking their refill cylinders through interactive voice response (IVRS) the customer will be sent an SMS on their registered mobile number with the link for making the payment online.
The link will be open for a day, through which they can pay the amount through multiple online payment options available such as netbanking or using their credit card, debit card, e-wallets, etc. On completion of digital payment they need not pay anything during the refill delivery.
Customers not using the above mentioned options can insist on making digital payment at the time of delivery too by using the mobile point of sale (mPOS) machine which is carried by the delivery staff. It can be made using credit or debit cards, e-wallets, BHIM, UPI, Google Pay, PayTM, etc.
Officials made it clear that IOCL does not advocate payment of tips for delivery of LPG refills. On receipt of the cylinder, an SMS is sent to the customers confirming the delivery along with the online link for the customers to provide feedback on five parameters to help them enhance the quality of service to customers.
