India-Qatar working to boost share of natural gas in its energy mix, says new Indian Ambassador

India has a keen interest to engage with the Doha-based Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) and work in a mutually beneficial manner to promote dialogue between gas consumers and producers, as the South Asian country is currently intensifying its efforts to increase its share of gas in its energy mix as part of its commitment towards clean energy, newly appointed Indian Ambassador to Qatar, Dr. Deepak Mittal, has said during his visit to the GECF Secretariat where he was received by GECF Secretary-General Yury Sentyurin.

During the visit, the Ambassador was also accompanied by the Counsellor at the Indian Embassy in Doha T. Angeline Premalath. The Ambassador also briefed Sentyurin about the various measures being taken by the Indian government to achieve its commitment towards clean energy.
