India’s coal demand to recover in 2021, Outlook stable: Moody’s

The outlook for the global coal industry is stable and the demand for the fuel in key Asian consuming nations including China and India is set to recover next year, according to Moody’s Investors Service.

“Our inaugural stable outlook for the global coal industry reflects our expectation for an improvement in demand and pricing benchmarks over the next 12-18 months,” Moody’s said in a report.

It added that an improving global economy has set the stage for some recovery in demand in the most important coal-consuming sectors, including power generation and steelmaking.
