India’s corporate captains commit infrastructure investments to UP CM

India’s top corporates Tuesday discussed and committed to investments in hotels, solar farms, data centres, transmission lines, highways apart from manufacturing facilities for solar panels and electric vehicles in Uttar Pradesh, in a meeting with the state’s chief minister, said multiple people in the know.

Among the corporate leaders who met Yogi Adityanath were N Chandrasekaran, chairman of Tata Sons; Pranav Adani, managing director, agro, oil and gas, Adani Group; SN Subrahmanyan CEO and managing director of L&T; Siemens Industry Software chief Suprakash Chaudhuri and several venture capitalists said government officials and company executives.

Talks with Chandrasekaran centred around setting up hotels in Ayodhya- being developed as a major tourist hub in the state with the construction of the Ram temple, and Prayagraj- another significant destination for Hindus, a top UP government source told ET. Talks regarding setting up manufacturing facilities for solar panels as well as electric vehicles and charging stations also took place.

Adityanath had a meeting with the youngest scion of the Adani family, said people close to the development. Adani committed investments in solar farms, a data centre, highways, roadways and transmission lines.
