The Kerala State Electricity Board is set to start 26 electric vehicles charging centres in the district. The plan is to start charging stations with the support of empanelled agencies and private parties.
The KSEB has already floated tenders for six electric vehicle charging stations. The plan is to set up charging stations in the city and other areas in the district. The number of electric vehicles operational in the district is very low as per the current data, said Bose Jacob, deputy chief engineer KSEB.
However, the KSEB is planning to introduce a number of vehicle charging stations as the state government aims to increase the number of electric vehicles to 1 million by 2022, he said.
