The Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) has introduced digital payment options to refill cooking gas cylinder. “The cash memo, to be signed by the customer on delivery of the cylinder, has the retail selling price, which is inclusive of the charges for delivering the cylinders,” corporate communication general manager R Chidambaram said.
On booking the cylinder through interactive voice response, customers will be sent an SMS on the registered mobile number with the link for paying online, which will be open for a day. By clicking the link, customer can pay the amount through any of the online payment options including net banking, credit card, debit card or e-wallet.
“Customer need not pay anything during the delivery,” Chidambaram said. “They can also insist on making digital payment at the time of delivery using the mPOS machine, which will be carried by the delivery staff.
