Massive fire breaks out in underground gas pipeline of ONGC in Gujarat

A massive fire broke out in the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation’s (ONGC) gas pipeline passing from an agriculture farm land at Kadodara village Vagra taluka of Bharuch district near the Dahej industrial area on Friday night. Official sources confirmed there was no casualty reported and that the fire was brought under control with the prompt action from the ONGC authorities and the fire department.

Official sources said that the fire broke out due to the leakage or rupture in the underground gas pipeline of ONGC passing from an agricultural farm land in Kadodara village in Vagra taluka. The blast spot is located about one kilometre away from the United Phosphorus Limited (UPL)12 plant.

Sources said that the authorities from the ONGC Dahej immediately rushed to the spot along with the four fire tenders. The fire broke out at about 8:4 pm and that it was brought under control within 45 minutes. The gas supply in the pipeline was stopped with immediate effect.
