Oil India Limited informed the exchanges Wednesday that after floods disrupted preparation for capping the oil well, good progress of debris removal activities were achieved on Tuesday. The carrier and major part of pipes have been removed.
With this, all major debris has been removed except the ‘sub-structure of the Rig and a few drill pipes and some miscellaneous items in and around the cellar area. Removal of the debris has been started again since Wednesday morning. At the time of reporting, all debris have been removed from the well plinth and small items are being swept away.
The oil well in Bhagjan, Assam has blowout on May 27 and was followed by fire incident almost two weeks later.
