Soon you’ll be able to travel from Mumbai to Hyderabad in a bullet train, in just 3.5 hours!

To make travelling convenient and high-tech, the country is prepping in full swing and bullet trains are proving to be one of the latest offerings in the process. In a vivid picture of growth, seven high-speed rail corridors are already in the pipeline, supported by the National High-Speed Rail Corporation (NHSRCL) and the latest one which is making the news is the Mumbai-Hyderabad bullet train. This bullet train is set to bring down the travel time between Mumbai and Hyderabad to just 3.5 hours, in contrast to the 10-hour long journey for this 711km route.

A total of 12 stations to be covered between Hyderabad & Mumbai

The existing trains on this stretch run at an average speed of 80-120 kmph but the new bullet train facility will be approximately three times faster than these with a speed of 320 kmph. The Railway Board has already requested the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for the details of these high-speed rail corridors.

The entire expanse between the two stops will cover a total of 12 stations, including, Mumbai (BKC), Panvel, Navi Mumbai International Airport, Lonavla, Pimpri-Chinchwad, Pune, Baramati, Solapur, Gulbarga, Humnabad-Zahirabad, Sangareddy and Hyderabad.

Along with this facility, the other bullet train projects which are currently underway in India include, Delhi-Lucknow-Varanasi (865 km), Mumbai-Nashik-Nagpur (741 km), Delhi-Jaipur-Ahmedabad (886 km), Chennai-Mysuru (435 km), Delhi-Chandigarh-Amritsar (459 km) and Varanasi-Patna-Howrah (760 km).
