Vikram Solar on Wednesday said it has commissioned a 85 MW solar power project for National Thermal Power Corporation Limited (NTPC) at Bilhaur, Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh.
The company added that with this 85 MW project and its recently commissioned 140 MW project at the same location, the total capacity of the project is now 225 MW, which has become the largest solar project in a single location in the state.
“The first part capacity of 70 MW out of 85 MW solar PV project was commissioned on 28 March 2021 and we delivered NTPC 210 MW capacity project in the financial year 2020-21,” said the firm in its press release.
It said that the expected energy yield of the 85 MW solar project was 200 million units. The plant is expected to reduce 4.57 tonnes of carbon dioxide and can power 88,905 houses per year.
The company has a portfolio of commissioned and under-construction projects totalling about 708 MW with NTPC, according to Saibaba Vutukuri, chief executive officer, Vikram Solar.
